Members of the Society for Roads of North-East Slovenia (DCM) conducted a professional excursion to Turkey between 4 and 9 October 2024. We visited Istanbul, Ankara, Konya, and the unique region of Cappadocia.
The professional part of the excursion included a visit to key infrastructure projects, such as the EURASIA tunnel connecting the European and Asian parts of Istanbul, and a ride on the Turkish Railways high-speed train between Ankara and Konya. We also gained insight into modern construction practices in Turkey, including prefabricated and residential construction, as well as the urban planning of cities.
The excursion gave us an insight into technologically advanced solutions and infrastructure projects that make a significant contribution to the development of transport connectivity and sustainable mobility. We thank the board of the DCM society, the KONDOR agency, and all participants for the excellent organisation and execution of the excursion.
The news was prepared by Peter HENČIČ, univ.dipl.inž.grad. More about the excursion can be found on the website: https://www.izs.si/aktualno/izs-blog/strokovna-ekskurzija-v-istanbul-clanov-dcm
