of professional events
As part of its activities, the society has organised numerous excursions and professional conferences for its members and the broader professional community. Below is an overview of events through the years.
Three kinds of professional work
Since its founding, the society's work has rested on three pillars, through which we connect the profession, translate knowledge into practice and help shape the development of transport infrastructure in north-east Slovenia.
Professional conferences, symposia and congresses
Since 1997 we have organised professional conferences that open key questions on the development of roads, railways and urban mobility. They are often prepared together with the UM Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, the Road and Transport Research Association and the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers. Professional excursions
At home and abroad we study modern transport solutions, from long-distance cycling routes to major railway and road projects, and strengthen ties with foreign experts. Highlights are kept in the gallery.
Professional opinions and cooperation
Our members contribute professional opinions on spatial and design solutions, take part in public debates and draw attention to the challenges of important transport projects in Podravje, Koroška and Pomurje.
In 1976, a team of Maribor road experts drew up a ten year road development and construction programme for Maribor in little over a month. It covered the expressway, city streets, and the paving of local roads.
