The Society for Roads of North-Eastern Slovenia is organising a professional conference on 4 November 2021 at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, Smetanova 17, Maribor.
With the conference on the theme "THE SLOVENIAN CONSTRUCTION SECTOR FACING THE CHALLENGES OF MAJOR TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS", we aim to stimulate in-depth discussion on the opportunities, challenges, and issues presented by the next investment cycle in the country. The conference is divided into two parts: the first features presentations of expert papers on the construction of the second track of the Divača–Koper railway (2TDK), the 3rd Development Axis (DARS), the Karavanke Tunnel (DARS), and road and rail projects (DRSI); the second part will consist of a round table on the future of the Slovenian construction sector.
The conference will bring together participants from the responsible ministries, representatives of investors, expert services, Slovenian municipalities, the business community, urban planners and designers, media, and other stakeholders. The event offers all participants the opportunity to exchange professional perspectives and positions, and to provide additional assessments and responses in the field of Slovenian construction. The goal of the event is to identify challenges in the development of major transport infrastructure projects and to explore ways of increasing the efficiency of related processes in investment preparation and management.
